2- what is their education & training

Went to Princeton University and earned a degree in medicine, but he decided he wanted to follow his true passion and draw comic books.

3- how did they get to where they are today?

Always had a passion to draw but went to school for Psychology. Graduated in 1986 but decided he wanted to draw comics instead. Was hired as a penciller at Marvel after inking the cover for an independent publisher. He started off doing a lot of work on the X-Men comics and gained a great deal of popularity from it. Eventually though, after some creative differences, Jim broke away from Marvel and formed Image Comics which later was called Wildstorm productions. In 1988 he left Image Comics and sold Wildstorm Productions to DC Comics. In 2011, Lee was integral in the launch of DC Entertainment’s NEW 52 initiative, designing the new, more contemporary costumes for some of the DC universe’s most iconic characters, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Currently he is the Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment.

4- what advice do they have for aspiring artists?

His advice is to practice practice practice, and have a hunger for knowledge. Draw consistently.

2- what is their education & training

Learned to draw by copying is older brother at a young age. Continued to draw to stay out of trouble. Is self taught. Didn't go to art school because his portfolio work was not strong enough. Just continued to draw from life and reading books to improve.

3- how did they get to where they are today?

Interned at an accessory design company and was hired, eventually meeting a lot of other artists who landed him opportunities in comic book illustration and flash animation projects. Eventually worked on a great deal of projects including Kim Possible (Disney, Storyboards), The Batman: Animated (WB, Storyboards), The Lizzie McGuire Show (Disney, Assistant Animator), The Ron White Show (TBS, Lead Character Designer) , The Play Pen (Rocafella films, Art Director), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Animated (Dreamwave Productions, Comic book illustrator), Street Fighter (Udon entertainment, Comic book illustrator), WhirlGirl: The Flash Animated Series (Showtime.com, storyboard, Lead Character Designer, layout) BattleSeed: The Flash Animated series (Scifi.com, creator, writer, storyboard, lead design and key animation). Now he works JM Animation best known for Avatar The Last Airbender.

4- what advice do they have for aspiring artists?

"Stay hungry and focused and try to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who also want what you want and can help you stay on your path to success"

Graduated from CalArts and delivered pizza for three months until going straight into the animation industry for the past seven years. Is now working at Cartoon Network, voice acting and storyboarding for Regular Show.

4- what advice do they have for aspiring artists?
